Fundraising
At Waitaria Bay school we run our own school bus service, so we require an extra $10 000 or so per year to get everyone to school safely. We are extremely grateful for the support of our school families, local community and wider Marlborough businesses who give us their time and money to make things happen. One that definitely needs a special mention is Sherrington Honey who support us with a sizeable donation every year, however we still find ourselves with a shortfall. So any offer of support is always appreciated, whether it be a financial support or an offer to lend a hand where and when needed.

what else we do...
Social Fridays
During the year we also host some ‘Social Fridays’ at our wee local hall. We cook a big meal and people come along and purchase some dinner and be sociable, on a Friday. This year we will also be squeezing in a few quiz nights and maybe a Pecha Kucha night... curious? Keep an eye on our website.
Manaroa Beach Cleaning
Each year since 2005 we have undertaken a ‘Beach Survey’ commissioned by The Mussel Industry Council. They make a donation to the school in return for us picking up every piece of rubbish we can find on a certain stretch of beach and then surveying it and categorising it for them. It is also a great excuse to have a picnic and muck around on the beach, after we’ve thoroughly surveyed it of course!
Tea Towels
For the last 2 years the kids have designed and had printed some fabulous tea towels. Everyone has an excuse to buy a tea towel, especially when they are as unique as ours.
