Magnolia Poem

Magnolias smells like sugar.
They feel silky.
Magnolias only bloom in spring.
I can hear a blowing breeze from the magnolia tree.
It looks like an ice cream.

Magnolia Poem

Magnolias smell like coconut milk.
Magnolias feel like leather boots.
Magnolias look like magenta tulips.
Magnolias taste like a sigh of spring.
Magnolias sound like bees buzzing in the blue day.

Ruby and the Python

This is based on a true story.
Once upon a time there was an 8-year-old. Her name was Ruby. Ruby was a gentle person. She helped animals like lions and cheetahs and also snakes. Her favorite animals were snakes.
When she got back from her mission she even found a thirsty python that was scared so she kneeled down and gave the first python a drink so the python felt safe with Ruby. The python felt so safe that the python became friends with Ruby. The python even slithered onto Ruby and was very kind so Ruby took the python home.
When Ruby got home the python slithered off Ruby's arm and explored. While the python explored, Ruby got set on the python's enclosure. When Ruby was finished she called the python. The python slithered to Ruby and was so excited to see the enclosure. When the python stopped slithering and saw the enclosure the python loved it. The python slid into the enclosure as fast as she could and got settled in the enclosure.
When the python woke up it was morning. Ruby gave the python some food and then the python was ready for a big day.The first thing that the python did was slither outside to go bathe in the sun. When the python came inside Ruby saw the Python and picked it up and Ruby gave the python a name. Ruby named the python Lily. Lily liked the name. After Ruby named the python Lily, Ruby and Lily went outside to play hide and seek. Then it was getting late Ruby put Lily in her enclosure and Lily went to sleep.
In the morning at the same time every day Lily gets food to get started on a new day but this morning something was wrong. There was a cage and Ruby was gone. Lilly was so worried, but Ruby was just upstairs. Lily was so relieved. Ruby took Lily out of the enclosure and put Lily in the cage. Lily was confused but then Ruby put Lily in the car. When the car stopped Ruby took Lily out of the car and Ruby went into the vet. When Ruby took Lily out of the cage Lily was scared but since Ruby was there Lily was brave. Ruby was hoping that Lily was going to be brave and Lily forgot that she was a snake.
Lily was shedding. When Lily was done shedding she was beautiful. She was a beautiful lime green snake.  When Ruby and Lily got home Lily went to sleep. In the morning Lily got fed different food and Lily was confused again. Lily was thinking maybe Ruby was feeding me different food because it was important. Lily just didn't know.
One morning Lily wasn't feeling too good. Lily was sick. When Ruby woke up Ruby saw that Lily wasn't feeling too good. Ruby saw that Lily was sick. Ruby had to take Lily to the vet again. Lily was not happy. Lily was a brave python again. When Ruby and Lily got to the home they went to sleep. When they woke up Ruby didn't recognize Lily. Ruby thought Lily was a whole different snake because Lily shed again.
Years went by and Lily turned 18 and Ruby was 30. Ruby has had Lily for a really long time. The End

Snowed In

Once upon a time there was a dog named Steve. Steve lived in a mansion on the hill. Steve was as happy as can be. In the morning it was snowing. Steve was excited. Steve's mum opened the mansion door and Steve ran outside. Steve zoomed into the snow and his head turned white. Steve shook off the snow. Steve was his own colour again.

Steve's mum told him it was getting late and she made Steve a cup of hot cocoa.

After Steve finished his hot cocoa, Steve's dad made him some dog rolls and biscuits for dinner.

In the morning Steve's mum opened the door so Steve could play outside

but when she opened the door a pile of snow blocked the door. They were snowed in! Steve thought “Oh no I can't play outside anymore and the food is starting to freeze. “I will dig a way out," said Steve's dad.

Steve's dad kept on digging and digging for hours so Steve went to help his dad and after a few minutes they were through. The food started to get warmer because the electricity was back on.

Everyone was happy. Steve's mum can make hot cocoa again and Steve's dad could watch the television. Life was good again.

Chloe

Once upon a time there was a bortal named Chloe.
Chloe was really sick. Chloe needed Gorvan drool because Gorvan drool is an antidote for gorvans. She knows that the Gorvan lives in the haunted forest. Chloe always gets the chills thinking about the haunted Forest.

Chloe decided to go to the haunted forest. She walked for hours to get to the haunted forest.
Chloe saw a sign that said haunted forest one mile so she walked another mile and when she got to the haunted forest she saw the gorvan's footprints in the mud. Chloe followed  the footprints. It felt like forever until she got to the gorvan’s cave.

Chloe entered the cave and saw the Gorvan! The Gorvan saw Chloe and he picked up Chloe and wrapped her in his slimy tentacles. Chloe was lifted into the Gorvans mouth and she thought that this was the end until… her best friend Fluffy came and pulled out a feather from her pocket and tickled The Govan and under his belly.

The Gorvan laughed so hard that he dropped Chloe. Chloe picked up some Gorvan drool and rubbed it on her spider bites. Chloe and Fluffy walked away. On the way Chloe asked Fluffy how  he knew that she was at the cave. Fluffy said “Oh Chloe I knew that you would need saving so I followed you.”
“Thank you so much for saving me, " said Chloe.

Matariki

What is Matariki?

It is a specialCelebration of the Māori New Year. Matariki is a cluster of stars. They come into the sky  in midwinter and we celebrate with a big feast with our whanau.

There are three water stars. Waitā is for  salt water and kaimoana. Waiti is fresh water.

Waipunarangi is the star that gives us rain.

That is why Matariki is so important.

My Wicked Aunty

I went to the market with my mum and I saw a lantern. I paid for it and then my wicked auntie picked me up and she locked me in the truck. I was frightened but I rubbed the lantern and a rainbow cat appeared. Then it said “I will grant you five wishes.”

Bortal

One day there was a bortal named Fluffy. She was having a birthday party with her friends but she forgot the cake. So Fluffy went to get the cake. She went through the forest and into town but there was another problem. In the supermarket there were no cakes. It was a disaster!

I guess we will have to have chocolate and some other sweets too. When Fluffy got back to the birthday party they were already pumping up the balloons.

My wicked Auntie said let's go for a walk in the forest

“My wicked Auntie said let's go for a walk in the forest.” It was beautiful but Auntie took me to the deepest darkest place and chained me up. She walked off laughing. I felt scared. Why is she being so cruel to me?
Oh no horrid Auntie! I heard wolves howling: I was very petrified and I started quivering. I struggled to get out of the chains. I rubbed against the tree and a horse came galloping out of the trunk.
The colour of the horse was pure black and its mane was black too and it had strong hooves and it broke the chain. I was amazed and then the horse picked me up and we cantered away from the wolves. I was shocked when the horse picked me up. We rode off into the mist and we arrived at a beautiful village.
I walked around and around the village and it didn't seem that there were any bad guys there. As I walked down the next road everyone started asking “Do you want a saddle and bridle for your horse?”
“Yes I do.” So I saddled up and I got the bridle on. I got on him and when we were going again I started thinking of a name for him. I thought of two names.  They were Midnight and Shadow. He nodded to Midnight so I named him Midnight. Midnight and I set off on an adventure into the mist.
When we got out of the mist we ended up at a cliff edge. We were determined to get to a safe place but then Midnight backed up and started galloping and jumped off the edge of the cliff and turned into a pegasus.
I was surprised and we were soaring through the sky.
Midnight decided that he would go down and see if it is a safe place so Midnight took me down. Me and Midnight walked around and we decided to stay here. Midnight and I laid down. I ate s’mores and we stayed there all our life.
